We are in for another busy week. We are going to the Sagebrush Theatre on Thursday, for another Primary concert. The title for this final performance is So You Wanna Dance. It should be really interesting and entertaining.

Don’t forget to get those swimming lesson permission slips back in to me by the end of the month. The cost is $16. Also, dance tickets are on sale this week. Don’t miss the fun Parkcrest Family Dance on April 30th.

Holy cow!  April will be here by the end of the week.  Next thing you know it will be Easter bunny time.  We have a couple of trips to Katt’s Gym coming up this month- on April 16th (9-10) and April 30 (11-12).  The cost is $7 for both sessions.  This ties in nicely with the gymnastics unit that Ms. Brkovich is doing with the kids in gym.  FYI – classes get a discount on the gymnastics if one of the students is enrolled at Katt’s, so that is why some of the classes are paying less.

Get your dancing shoes ready, because the Parkcrest Family Dance is coming up on April 30th.  It is soooo fun.  Save the date on your calendar!

Hello all!

Finally our warm weather is here! It was actually pleasant to be outside with the kids today at recess (and without my winter jacket too!). I hope that you all had a great spring break. My husband and I had a nice time with Gabby in Vancouver going to the aquarium and all that fun stuff!! I am sure that you have heard that we have a new student in our class – and it is a girl too! Yes! Please join me in welcoming Madelyn to our wonderful Division 10 class.

Milk order forms (the last one of the year) are due in on Wednesday, March 25th. Also, Parkcrest Idol is coming up in April. Entry forms are due back by April 1st. The kids are pretty pumped. Please feel free to come and watch our budding stars: April 6-9th, 12:20 – 1:00, in the gym.

****PLEASE start looking for skates!!! Our first skating date is on Mon. Feb.16, in the afternoon.****

Well, we survived the McQueen Lake trip! No broken bones, and I do believe that all of the students made memories that will last a long time. Thanks to all our wonderful parents who came along. This kind of a trip would not be possible without you! One of the parents has volunteered to make a photo DVD of the trip. I will need to get permission from parents first, so look for a note coming home soon. If you have digital photos to share, please burn them to a disc and give them to me or Ms. Kwan. We will pass them along!

We skating coming up in two weeks. Please start looking for your child’s skates and helmet. If you know that you need skates, please let me know as soon as possible. I will see what we can find here.

There is a concession running Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Two important pink papers were sent home today. One was the permission slip for tubing at Harper Mountain on Fri. Feb. 13th. The cost of this trip is $8, but several of the students will be able to apply some of their Grade 3 fundraising money to help cover the cost. The second important note sent home today is in regards to the PAC’s hanging basket fundraiser. Please help support this fundraiser. It would be wonderful if every student could sell one basket.

Hello families,

Well, here we are, half way through November already. It is incredible to think that Christmas concert practices will probably start next week. Wow! I guess that means that I should start thinking about Christmas shopping too!

The kids sure are doing a nice job on their speeches. Thank you for helping the children prepare. They will continue on during the rest of the week. This week’s spelling lists are posted on the blog (Unit 10 this week). Please remember that spelling homework is due in by Wednesday. There will be a math sheet coming home on Wednesday as well, and that is due in by Friday. Don’t forget that the blue Reader’s Club books are due back in on Friday as well. Some of the children are really participating well in the Reader’s Club home reading.

I am excited for Wednesday because we have our second video conference with the scientists from NASA. We are nearing the end of our Space unit and it has been so much fun.

It is pizza day on Friday. Yippee! The hot lunches are always such a thrill for the kids.

I have the certificates for coffee and poinsettias that the some of the children sold for their fund-raising. I am going to send them out this week, with the original order form that was handed in to me. Thanks so much for those who participated.

Have a wonderful week. I wonder when we will be getting more of that white stuff?

As always, I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or comments. Email me at ctrestain@shaw.ca.

Bye for now,

Cheryl
